Symposium Theme:
“The Physically Active Lifestyle: A Collaboration Among Professions”
The theme of this symposium is centered on the discussion of a physically active lifestyle versus exercise prescription. While many people around the world perceive the importance of gaining health through exercise, it has often been promoted as “getting a dose of exercise” as opposed to living an active life. This view then begs a question of, “How do we promote an active lifestyle on a global level?” Through this gathering, AIESEP aims to bring together researchers across disciplines (e.g., pedagogy, health education, psychology, sport, etc.) to address this question and discuss ways of promoting a physically active lifestyle both within and outside of school.
